“photographic memory” or a “memory of photographs”

Last week, as part of a discussion thread that I was following on the Identity Gang, someone pointed out Passfaces. I feel like I have had my head in a bucket as this technology is not something I have come across before. I think the idea behind it is very interesting and potentially very useful. As well as the extra level of authentication (although arguably not much extra) you also… Read More »“photographic memory” or a “memory of photographs”

Second Life update – Whats the attraction?

You may remember on 20th January I posted a comment about my new entry into the world of Second Life. Well, after that post i’ve spent a few days on and off, logging on and looking around. I realise I probably haven’t touched the surface of the things that are available. However, on the surface, I really don’t see what the attraction is. My first couple of hours were spent… Read More »Second Life update – Whats the attraction?

“WOW” – First hand experience

A couple of weeks ago, I decided to buy a new PC for home. I managed to give my wife a number of feeble excuses before she finally agreed to let me get one. In reality I didn’t really need one, except for the fact that I haven’t had a new one for a couple of years and being a ‘techie’ felt that it was time I upgraded. As expected,… Read More »“WOW” – First hand experience

Disneyland Paris Tips

Following on from my previous post, I must say that we had a great time in Disneyland. My wife and I and more importantly, our two girls absolutely loved it. It is our second visit in as many years and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone with kids. Here are a few of my hints, tips and observations about the trip. I’m sure they equally apply to the parks… Read More »Disneyland Paris Tips

Definite Identity Fraud

This week i’ve had the pleasure of getting a long overdue week off work and taking my family to Disneyland in Paris. Other than the rain on the first day, we had a great time and the weather for the remaining days was nothing short of ‘summer’. However, whilst there I spotted the most blatant exhibition of Identity fraud that I have ever seen. I spotted several different people (see… Read More »Definite Identity Fraud

Still alive

In case anyone was wondering, I am still alive and kicking. It seems like a lifetime since I last posted anything on here. This has been solely down to my current work project which is taking pretty much all of my time at the moment. However, I have been trying to keep up with things and will hopefully start posting again very soon. Stay tuned………

Identity fraud is OUR responsibility

Last night there was a programme on TV discussing Identity fraud and what the UK police, in particular the City of London Police (which deals with the most Identity fraud) are doing to try and reduce it. What is very clear is that there are a group of clever ‘good’ people (the police) constantly chasing and playing catch up with another group of clever, albeit, ‘bad’ people (the crooks). Some… Read More »Identity fraud is OUR responsibility

Federated Authorisation, my late thoughts

There has been a lot of talk over the past week on the topic of “Federated Authorisation”. This was instigated by James McGovern but then received responses from a number of people including Pat, Conor, Paul and Paul. I have been reading with interest the comments that have been made and think the the idea of integrating SAML with XACML is a very interesting one. As Pat said, this hasn’t… Read More »Federated Authorisation, my late thoughts

Great comment whilst on the train

I have been a fairly regular commuter to and from London over the past 4 months. On the train you can always tell the regular commuters. For the first 20 minutes of the journey from London Kings Cross, none of the regular travellers even attempt to use their phones as it is tunnel after tunnel and a constant roller coaster of a signal. On the flip side to this, you… Read More »Great comment whilst on the train

Birth of my Second Life

Having read the hype for the past few months I have decided to give Second Life a go. So, tonight, I have signed up for my Basic Account. I will be sure to keep you posted on my thoughts over the coming weeks as I explore the world. Anyone got any experiences, good or bad? Please share them! As always, i’m really interested to know what people think. Technorati Tags:… Read More »Birth of my Second Life
